Situated in the pristine waters of the south shore of Grand Bahama Island, UNEXSO operates and maintains a dolphin education and interaction facility called The Dolphin Experience. The facility is on a nine-and-a-half-acre lagoon where people have the opportunity to learn, interact and swim with bottlenose dolphins. The Port Lucaya facility needed a concrete floating dock system that would let visitors literally step down into the water and observe and interact with the highly intelligent creatures. The new dock system will be built in Phases. It is a very special and unique request for design, construction and installation. Don Churchill, President of UNEXSO, spent many months searching for the right company that could meet all the challenges this job had to offer. Phase I consisted of a platform built and attached to the new concrete floating docks in order to accommodate the visitors. A square design was also needed to allow various activities within the marina. Mr. Churchill's exhaustive research led him to Southeast Floating Docks, Inc, based in St. Augustine, Fla., as the ideal company for the job. Loading requirements and installation had to be carefully done to protect and accommodate the dolphins. Special, qualified installers, sensitive to the needs of the dolphins, were selected for this task and were flown to the Island for the installation process. Southeast Floating Docks, Inc. with its well-designed concrete floating docks will complete the many Phases of UNEXSO in the coming months and years. It's a large job removing the old docks and installing uniquely designed docks, but it's a challenge that Southeast Floating Docks is ready to meet. Their company's 15 years of experience assure the highest quality and standards in the industry.
