DESIGN BEYOND STRAIGHT LINES

Infinity Curve Sections vs. Traditional Dock Layouts

Most docks are designed around straight lines and right angles. ShoreMaster Infinity Curve Sections introduce exclusive 45° and 90° curves, giving you more freedom to shape your dock around your shoreline, your activities and the way you want to experience the water.

Feature
Infinity Curve Dock Design
Traditional Straight Dock Layout
Layout Shape
Infinity Curve Advantage Exclusive 45° and 90° Curve Sections Create flowing transitions, rounded corners and layouts that move beyond a standard grid of rectangles.
Traditional Straight Layout Straight sections and right-angle connections typically create linear, L-shaped or T-shaped dock configurations.
Shoreline Fit
Infinity Curve Advantage Designed Around the Natural Shoreline Curves help the dock follow changing shoreline angles and work around landscaping, rocks and other waterfront features.
Traditional Straight Layout A fixed rectangular layout may require the shoreline and surrounding space to accommodate the dock’s straight edges.
Gathering Spaces
Infinity Curve Advantage Rounded Platforms Feel More Inviting Soft corners create natural spaces for seating, dining, relaxing and spending time together over the water.
Traditional Straight Layout Square and rectangular platforms provide functional space but may feel more like an extension of the dock walkway.
Waterfront Access
Infinity Curve Advantage More Ways to Approach the Water Curved edges open additional access points for swimming, fishing, launching water toys and moving around the dock.
Traditional Straight Layout Water access is generally concentrated along the straight sides and squared-off ends of the dock.
Space Utilization
Infinity Curve Advantage Turn Transitions into Usable Space Rounded corners can transform awkward transition areas into functional room for furniture, accessories and waterfront activities.
Traditional Straight Layout Sharp corners and narrow intersections may create spaces that are less comfortable or difficult to use.
Visual Design
Infinity Curve Advantage A Distinctive Waterfront Landmark Flowing lines soften the dock’s appearance and create an architectural feature that feels thoughtfully designed for the property.
Traditional Straight Layout Straight runs deliver a familiar, traditional dock appearance focused primarily on function.
Layout Flexibility
Infinity Curve Advantage Combine Curves, Corners and Straight Sections Mix modular components to create gathering platforms, rounded slips, flowing walkways and nearly endless custom configurations.
Traditional Straight Layout Configuration choices are generally based on straight runs, square platforms and standard right-angle connections.
Section Connections
Infinity Curve Advantage Modular Infinity Connection System Connect curve and straight sections into a unified layout without limiting the design to predetermined connection points.
Traditional Straight Layout Fixed connection locations and standard section shapes may provide fewer options for changing direction or creating custom transitions.
Accessory Placement
Infinity Curve Advantage Personalize with InfinityTrack Accessories Position furniture, ladders, bumpers and recreation accessories throughout the surrounding Infinity Dock layout without drilling.
Traditional Straight Layout Accessory placement may be limited by fixed brackets, straight attachment surfaces or drilled mounting locations.
Future Expansion
Infinity Curve Advantage A Design That Can Continue to Evolve Add straight sections, platforms, corners or more curves as your waterfront needs and activities change.
Traditional Straight Layout Expansion usually continues along the same rectangular grid, which can limit the shape of future additions.
Overall Experience
Infinity Curve Advantage An Outdoor Living Space Over the Water Curves help the dock feel like an intentional extension of the home, landscape and waterfront lifestyle.
Traditional Straight Layout The dock primarily functions as a direct path between the shoreline, watercraft and open water.

Layout possibilities depend on dock model, shoreline conditions, water depth and final system configuration.

Where Lake Memories Begin and Last a Lifetime

Imagine kids racing around the gentle arc of your dock to make the last sunset jump. Picture quiet mornings, coffee in hand, as the curve opens into a peaceful platform over glassy water. Or neighbors gathered on a rounded lounge space, laughing under soft dock lights.

ShoreMaster’s Curve Dock sections are built for these moments — strong, stable, and beautifully designed to bring unique flow and function to your layout, season after season.

FAQs for Curve Docks:

Curves create more organic layouts that match natural shorelines, add visual drama, and expand your entertainment spaces. Plus, they simply stand out — making your dock the envy of the lake

Absolutely. Most customers use a combination to maximize shoreline use and create unique footprints. The Infinity system makes blending sections effortless.

Not at all. Curved sections use the same 4” Infinity RS4 frames, welded to perfection and supported by our 5-Sided Dock Legs — so you’ll enjoy the same rock-solid experience.

Yes. ShoreMaster offers curved decking options that fit perfectly to the frame for an elegant, unified look you won’t find anywhere else.

Yes. ShoreMaster’s exclusive 45° and 90° Curve Dock sections are compatible with all Infinity Dock models — RS4, RS7, and TS9 — thanks to the Infinity Connection System. Each curve is built to the same precision-welded, marine-grade aluminum standards as our straight sections, so they integrate seamlessly into your layout.

If you’re adding curves to the RS7 or TS9, keep in mind that these models have taller side rails than the RS4, so there will be a slight height difference when RS4 curves are used. This doesn’t affect stability or accessory compatibility but is worth noting for a perfectly level surface.
